Workshops & Programmes

When one day is enough, when two – and when it takes a process.

A workshop is not a product but an instrument. It works when it sits at the right point in the process – and it fizzles when it is placed as a one-off in a calendar where nothing else changes.

So every format begins with the question of what should be different afterwards. From that follows how long, how large and how deep: a clarification day with the managing board is something else than a large group of eighty people or a development journey over nine months.

All formats can be run in person and online. For large groups I work with World Café and Open Space among others – methods that enable participation without losing clarity.

Which format holds when

One day – clarity and first delivery
Two or three central topics, concrete solutions, directly applicable. For leadership circles that want to know where it is stuck before setting up a programme.
Two days – the recommendation for lasting effect
A full view, prioritisation, concrete delivery steps and a roadmap you can work with. The right entry point for most starting situations.
Leadership programmes – two days per level
Essentials for new leaders, deepening for middle management, strategy and leading leaders for top management. Content tailored to the level, not from the catalogue.
Development journey – three to nine months
Five modules from self-leadership to transfer, with reflection tasks, peer groups, one-to-one coaching and practice projects in your own area in between. Closes with a results presentation. For companies that want to change leadership lastingly, not just train it.
Large groups – when everyone has to understand at once
Conferences and participation formats for divisions or entire sites. When change is to be worked out together rather than cascaded.

World Café is a method of the World Café Community Foundation (theworldcafe.com). Open Space Technology goes back to Harrison Owen.
